I don't discriminate against Dickheads

Need to vent.

One of my tasks at work is to prepare the department’s reports for the board. A simple case of ‘this is the document that justifies your job’. However, every month it’s a struggle, because hardly anybody does it.

So then you ask nicely and they never get back to you (or even worse try and coerce you to do the job for them). Then you ask nicely again.

Then you tell your boss ‘here is the document that justifies your job, but nobody’s done it’. He goes mental and says that my authority on this is final and if they won’t listen to me then they’ll have to listen to him.

Then I bite my tongue and think that part of the problem is that it justifies his job, and nobody wants him to have the job.

Then I call again, and they promise that they will do the stuff and I give yet another deadline that they won’t keep.

When they do complete the report it’s at the last minute, nobody has reviewed what has been said and it’s horribly inaccurate. And the board rip it to shreds.

I have wasted a day of my job waiting for people to do theirs.
