Over There

Ah, peace and quiet with everyone out of the office. Might take this opportunity to do a rambling blog post.

It’s been a while. I’m not a meme type of girl- I don’t really need to know what ‘The Smurfs’ character I am/ the answers to 20 questions about other people in chain mail form/ other people think of Britney Spears. So that leaves not a lot to post about when you have nothing much to say. Work life is same as always. Personal life is as good as ever, and as personal as ever. Home life has been hectic when I’m there, which lately feels like rarely. At this time of the year, it feels like there is very little time to relax, but then something else comes along to take even that away…

I’m just coming off 4 hours sleep packing the last of my personal belongings for the house move after we got ‘evicted’ (well, in nicer terms than that- the owner wants to move in, so we got booted). That’s the life of the serial renter. Don’t worry, the living circumstances haven’t changed for me, however much people try and force me into moving into some sort of love nest. Anyhow, the place is in a much trendier area (meh), and is smaller but better designed so the spaces feel bigger- and a good thing, because I was seriously running out of room to put my stuff in. And this move has pointed out just how much crap I’ve accumualted over the last decade. At least it’s good crap, and in the case of my DVDs, CDs, books and games, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and catalogue them at the same time. I was raised alphabetising stuff; it’s not a surprise that I have a few (saucy) librarian tendencies.

So, this morning I left one place, and at the end of the day (after first going to the movies, match) I’m gonna go home to another place. And truthfully, I didn’t feel any connection as I left; in the end it was just a dirty small room. Plus, I had to run to the train. Life goes on, even when you change the direction on the compass.
