I know, I know, it may seem strange to you that I got a Zune on the day that Stevo announced his new toy. But frankly, the iPhone wouldn’t suit my needs. Not enough space, for one. The other thing is that I’m not exactly delicate with my mobile; I keep it on my hip so I can feel it on silent (which is all the time), and chances are I’d break it every time I sat down.

So, to replace my 3rd Gen iPod I decided to import a Zune, mostly because it has a bigger screen than the iPod and I want to use it for video, and also because it’s not as scratch hungry as the Pod. The fact that it comes in brown didn’t hurt either.

Although I have a 360, the integration with that didn’t matter to me (I streams my muzak anyways). Marketplace? Wi- Fi? Pah. Neither will matter to me in Australia for a long time (and I never used the iTunes marketplace anyway).

So far- really enjoying it. Build quality is high. I actually prefer the software (although it needs RSS feed integration stat). There are some nice little touches on it. And most importantly, I’m listening to music on the way to work again.

And it’s name? Polished Turd. There really could be no other choice.
